Speaker 1:

Hey everyone, welcome to another episode of Marketing 101. A special guest this week Scott from Satva. We've done a podcast before, more for health and benefits of sleeping, but now we're diving into the partnership that you can get with Satva as a chiropractor. I think it's great. Thanks for being back, Scott, Appreciate it.

Speaker 2:

Oh, it's great to be back. Thanks for having me Looking forward to talking about this subject, very excited about it.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, the mattresses are absolutely wonderful. I'll let you do it. You do a way better job about it. They're going to be right up the chiropractic alley. We got some at our house. We tell our patients about it. They are you know. They got a few different ones, but the thing about the chiropractic thing is watch what he's got for a guarantee and watch what they're made out of. I mean organic New Zealand wool for a fire retardant instead of chemicals. I mean, if this isn't chiropractic friendly, I don't know what is. This stuff's absolutely great Factory, fresh, nothing's made or stocked. He'll get into this stuff. But I was sold in about 60 seconds. So go through the same things you told me and I'm sure a bunch of these cars are going to be like man. How do I sign up and collaborate with you guys?

Speaker 2:

Absolutely Well. Thank you for the opportunity to speak to your audience. I just wanted to give you some background. So this program actually was built around one of the main questions that patients are asking their chiropractors, and that is you know, what mattress and pillow would you recommend? And we found that this was just a real area that we wanted to participate in and we found that we can be the go-to referral partner for all those chiropractors. We wanted to create a program that was designed to be a very simple way of providing a quality source to their patients that can enjoy a better night's sleep and sleep experience, and also, by doing so, the patients certainly benefit investing in and upgrading in their sleep system, but also the partners are rewarded for this.

Speaker 2:

So just to touch on our products as well Saatva is a luxury mattress brand that we offer therapeutic mattresses with dedicated lumbar support, also handcrafted using natural, organic materials. As you mentioned, dr Enrico, we have 11 different luxury mattresses that are all made factory fresh in America and we do all the heavy lifting, so we provide our partners with the sales, marketing and patient support that's necessary to make sure everything runs smoothly. We're also endorsed by the ACA and the Congress of Chiropractic State Associations. We're also involved with local associations the FCA and the TCA, to name a couple and also SOPR right now is the number one luxury mattress that's sold online, so that's something that we're very proud of. Just to talk on some of the key policies that we have, which are important to both chiropractors and their patients, is when you buy a mattress from a Satva, you're getting a great product, but also we back it up with a 365-night trial. So patients that may have the luxury of going into a local software showroom and testing out the mattress is fantastic. But for those that don't, they have a one year trial that they can try out this mattress. If they're unhappy with it for any reason, they can exchange it and return it. The only thing that we ask is a ninety nine dollar processing fee. So what this does is it lowers the risk factor, makes the patient more comfortable in choosing something and if there's no mistake that's made, they can exchange it or return it.

Speaker 2:

Lifetime warranties are throughout all of our mattresses. We have excellent ratings and our pricing is also 70% less than other Restore competitors, and the reason we are able to keep a lower price point is really based upon the direct to customer business model that we've established. So you won't find a Saatva mattress in any other mattress store or department store. It's either through a Saatva showroom you can buy it online or through our call center, so that lowers our costs. Also, everything is made factory fresh, so we don't stock anything. So it takes about nine to 21 days, but everything is being made per order that comes in, so we have no warehousing fees. Additionally, all of our sales representatives that are actually very educated on the product. They are not on commission, so there's no high pressure sales. It's a very comfortable experience, low pressure, for all of the patients that are contacting us.

Speaker 2:

And just to reiterate, we do believe in the green initiative. This is really something that is key for most patients that they get something that does not have any harmful chemicals incorporated in the mattress. No sprays. Everything that we produce is hyper allergenic and antimicrobial. We use organic cotton throughout the mattress and we also deliver these mattresses free. It's free white glove delivery, set up in the comfort of your own home. It's actually set up in the rooms of your choice and we also sell adjustable bases, which we'll also set up in sync. We'll take away your old mattress and box spring for free as well. So these are some key points in our product line and also the policies that make it really advantageous and comfortable for our chiropractors to recommend us.

Speaker 2:

But when we began this program, we already had the infrastructure in place to accommodate chiropractors and patients across the country. So currently we have 14 different manufacturing plants throughout the US, over 150 different delivery partners and we have 19 different SOTFA showrooms throughout the United States as well, and we're expanding that program as we speak. We're going to plan on putting another 25 to 50 showrooms throughout the United States within the next year and a half to two years. So we're really moving straight ahead to try to get as many showrooms up and running, especially in those real popular cities. So the question comes up a lot why chiropractors? Why did we target that market? And we found through our research that there are over 70,000 chiropractors throughout the United States and there's over 35 million patients that they actually treat per year. That was a major factor for us to really focus on that industry.

Speaker 2:

A lot of the mattress purchases are really based on pain relief and comfort as the major drivers for new mattress sales. That was really interesting for us to find out. Also, we found out that chiropractors are already referring mattresses to their patients from companies that they really trust, and that's one of the things that we've tried to bring across as much as possible that, in addition to having a great product, we're really there to back up the chiropractors and make sure that they're well taken care of and their patients are well taken care of. And the biggest complaints that we found from chiropractors regarding their patients was complaints as far as back pain, neck pain and headaches, and a lot of this was attributed to the mattresses that they were sleeping on. Anywhere from 10 to 20% of the conversations that were had with patients in chiropractors was regarding what type of mattress they should use.

Speaker 2:

Also, we found that chiropractors have a very high networking coefficient and there's all different types of personas and motivations from these chiropractors. So we work with chiropractors that may be like a freelancer chiropractor. They work between different, multiple clinics. Then you have a single clinic owner, which is extremely busy but profitable very profit-oriented, I should say and then we have multi-clinic owners that own clinics that can have upwards of 5,000 total patients. So there's a lot of different types of chiropractors and traffic and patients that they have on a regular basis that we work with.

Speaker 2:

Also, what we've learned through this program is that it's always best when the patient initiates the conversation. We try to do a good job as far as providing them with the information and materials, but once the patient initiates the conversation, it usually is something that will drive the sale. We also found that patients that are recommended by medical physicians are more prone to purchase from any other recommendation. So that's another reason why the chiropractic industry is so important to us make sure that doctors had the proper information and educational materials to really supply them with the information they need to know what type of mattresses we offer and what would be maybe best for their patients. So, even though we do all of the heavy lifting from a sales side, we really wanted the doctors to have a good background on the products that we offer. So if they come across a patient that is a certain type of sleeper whether they're a back sleeper, a side sleeper, a stomach sleeper, or they like a certain type of feel in their mattress they'd be able to maybe recommend certain different mattresses that we offer that would cater towards that type of patient.

Speaker 2:

And then we also try to monitor and measure the KPIs on the progress of this program. So we'll take a look at how many reorders of handout materials that are coming through, the number of unique links that are being clicked on, a number of sales, of course, and the average order value that's coming through. So, again, a lot of different things that we're monitoring. But we also wanted to experiment with different approaches with our chiropractors, and one of the interesting approaches that one chiropractor took was he did a. He created a sleep scorecard that he passed around to all of his patients and when he received this card, his patients were consistently tracking their sleep and reporting the results, which also increased engagement and also helped with referrals. So there's different things that we're always trying. We're always looking also for different ideas and any suggestions from our chiropractors on how we can improve the program and just make it more engaging for their patients as well. So, how the chiropractor program works, again, this was designed to be a very simple process where patients or chiropractors can actually recommend SOTFA to their patients, and also we wanted to create a benefit for the chiropractor in doing so.

Speaker 2:

So chiropractors get commissions and rewards from recommendations. Most of the time it's a 10% commission on orders that are being produced and that's after the discounts have been applied. We also offer free in-office materials. We cover the full charge in that, and that could be anywhere from providing posters and banners and flyers and also other digital assets. And we also found that practitioners are more successful when they own a Saatva mattress. And that's because, obviously, if you're sleeping on something and you're certainly, and if you're happy with it, of course, you're going to recommend to your patients and really speak from the heart that this mattress is something that you would suggest that they also purchase.

Speaker 2:

So we offer a 50% discount to all of our practitioners to entice them to purchase a mattress from us and try it out in their own home, and there's all different types of mattresses that they can choose from. Even their staff can enjoy a 35% discount. Types of mattresses that they can choose from. Even their staff can enjoy a 35% discount on our mattresses and products. So the benefit to the patients is that when they use the unique patient link that's provided to the chiropractors, they click on that, they would go directly to our site where they would get an additional $100 off of one of the lowest sale prices. And this is something that is monitored through PartnerStack, which is a portal that we actually provide for our practitioners and the patients get this discount. They also can enjoy the free white glove delivery, the one year trial and also the lifetime warranty.

Speaker 2:

What the onboarding looks like when we actually work with our chiropractors is that we want to make sure that they're clear and they're set up with PartnerStack and again, partnerstack is the portal that we use that allows our practitioners to monitor all the patient activity. It also allows them to go to this particular site and retrieve and monitor any commissions that are coming through. But we set up each practitioner with a account and it's one chiropractor per office. We do also have larger practices that we also make special arrangements for as far as having a unique link for that practice, but this unique link is an affiliate link that their patients would utilize, and this is something that they can post on their website or social media. We could also provide you or them with a digital QR code. That makes it a lot easier for the patients to access the discounts.

Speaker 2:

Again, in-office materials are provided as well, and during the onboarding call with our practitioners, we want to make sure that they're clear with the program, get to know them a little bit, talk about the different materials that may be suitable for their office and also provide them with a recap and summary of all the information that was discussed. So it's very clear about how the program works and it's really important that we touch base and follow up with all of our practitioners to make sure that they're using the program as much as possible our practitioners to make sure that they're using the program as much as possible. We understand that chiropractors and practitioners and the medical industry is very busy, so we try to make this as unobtrusive as possible to make sure that it's an easy flow, and we're always there to obviously support and help out where we can.

Speaker 1:

And you guys really have done that. I mean from my experience. The posters came one day in the mail. They're beautiful posters. They talk about the nervous system. They fit right into our office. The flyers are all printed with your QR code, very straightforward on there. Receive up to $700 off of your mattress, depending on what you buy, and the QR code links it for you.

Speaker 1:

I mean it's such an organic relationship, because I think the number one, maybe the number two thing we talk about is mattresses and sleep. It just comes up all the time People like do you rec? And they literally look at you after the adjustment and say, hey, do you recommend anything? And you're, and now I just have a stack of the flyers right there. I'm like, actually I do, and my sales pitch is so easy. I'm like I have one, I love it and it's everything we love in it.

Speaker 1:

Did you know they put harsh chemicals in all these things? That off gas when you buy them? And they're like, no, I didn't know that. I'm like they don't. They use organic cotton from New Zealand. That's a fire retardant and it passes all the codes. Such an easy sell.

Speaker 1:

And you're not selling anything. It's your mattress. It's sad, but I mean, it's nothing, and then you just get you know your 10% commission on that, which is super easy. So why not? I mean, this is just a no brainer and I talk about marketing all the time and this is what we do for our chiropractors and to have this flyer, to sit there and have a 30 second discussion with a patient and in some states like Florida, they can. You can write a prescription for them saying this patient needs it because of chronic low back pain. That's it. Put your license number on it, and they also save on the taxes on that too. That's not for every state, though, but for here and for. It's just stack on top of a stack of why would I not buy this?

Speaker 1:

And then I usually get a text a few days later. They're like Holy crap, these things are cheap. I'm like listen, before you buy anything, look at them first, and I don't think they look anywhere else. But it's been such. I just started. It's been such a great start, it's been such an organic conversation.

Speaker 1:

So if you're thinking about, huh, this sounds great, what do I need to do? You just contact Scott, you sign up, you make sure you're logged in and then just wait a couple. I think it took me about a week or so and I got something in the mail these beautiful boxes with and even a pull-up thing. It's a banner and the flyers are all. And when you run out you just order some more and they'll send them to you and you just keep handing them out. I mean pretty simple, and your patients are getting some great stuff. And then maybe go through some of the mattresses, scott, about what you have there. I mean, I've always slept on a pocket coil, I love them, I stay with them, yours is wonderful. And then you guys have everything. You got adjustable beds, you got latex beds, you got whatever the patient has used before. They're probably going to gravitate to again and SADF has covered all those bases.

Speaker 2:

Absolutely, and those are real key points on making sure that there is enough trust in a company that provides, you know, safe materials and also offers, you know, these tremendous discounts and advantages you know to take. You know that benefits both the chiropractors and the patients. But as far as our mattress lineup, you know we have 11 different mattresses. We have our traditional hybrid mattresses that consist of a dual coil design. We use premium memory foam throughout the mattresses as well. Organic cotton. And then, for those that are looking for a mattress that is a hundred percent natural, organic latex, we have our Zenhaven mattress for that and that's a great mattress If you're looking for a very uplifting feel, something that's buoyant, something that's breathable and sleeps cool. We also cater to those that may be sleep number fans that want to have a precision air mattress. We have our mattress called the Solaire, so it's an adjustable bed where you can change the firmness on either side of the mattress. Also, premium memory foam, similar to like a Tempur-Pedic. We have our version, which is about half the price of what they offer it and that comes in two different firmnesses. But you could also get these mattresses. The latex and also premium memory foam is hybrid. So for those that want to enjoy the benefit of those high end materials. As far as the foams that are out there, you can also get it with a spring system that is going to give you more responsive feel. And then for those that have children, that they have patients that are children or young adults, even infants and babies. We also have the youth mattresses and the crib mattresses. We even sell dog beds. So if you have patients that have dogs, or even the dogs are patients themselves, we also sell those mattresses. We even sell dog beds. So if you have patients that have dogs, or even that patients, the dogs are patients themselves, we also sell those mattresses. So there's really something for everyone and again, it's a really low risk type of purchase from a reputable company.

Speaker 2:

A couple other things I wanted to mention.

Speaker 2:

As far as just assisting with the process with the chiropractic partners that we have, we sort of make sort of suggestions and tips to maybe move the program more towards a success, and some of them include your intake form, so maybe including how old is your mattress, where, if your mattress is, say, over six to 10 years old, it may be something that the patient should definitely consider in making that investment.

Speaker 2:

If you have any type of social media presence, you have a website you can certainly post the links on there. Obviously, the in-office materials play a major role in giving the patient easy access and seeing what the options are, and also training your receptionists or anyone that's maybe at the front desk that can maybe hand out these materials. That makes it a lot easier for the patient to get this information. We also provide a introductory letter, and you may have your own, so you actually introduce this to your patients through this and just get them excited about the fact that you are now partnering with Safa. There's some tremendous discounts that they can take advantage of, and it's a company that you feel comfortable working with and that they can also trust.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, no, you nailed it. I mean, and I encourage you guys to explore Sattva. Go to their website, look at, look at how straightforward it is. It's their unique selling proposition is very unique. It's a, it's a home run. That's beautiful, it's laid out cleanly, even as a customer when you go to it, and how you can mimic this with chiropractic. That's just a little side thing there, but just go check this out.

Speaker 1:

Partnering with them. Just send an email, scott, I mean, that's super easy. He'll send everything to you. Um, and it's just organic conversation. So if you've had these conversations with patients before, I think you should sign up right away. It's super easy and there's no, there's no minimums, there's nothing. If you, you know, if you don't make a referral, it doesn't matter. It's just a secondary thing in your practice. But you'll find it to be very organic. It's going to be very easy to have these conversations with patients and guiding them and you're saving them. I find they're really appreciative of it because you're saving them so much time. I think it goes like house, car and then stuff like that Furniture, mattresses that people spend a lot of time researching because they're higher price point but and then they don't know what to get. They really don't know what's going to be best. And when you guide them in the right direction you're like hey, there's your three options. At Sattva they're like great, this is awesome. And then the 365 day, you know return policy, no harm, no foul, absolutely.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, and the average commissions that our chiropractors are getting per sale is $150 to $300. So if your patients are already asking about mattresses, take advantage of it. You're serving them, you're serving yourself. It's additional income that you normally wouldn't have gotten without this program, and it's a very simple process and, as Dr Enrico mentioned, we cover all the costs. There's really no out-of-pocket cost for you and there's not a lot of time that you have to invest in this thing. So we look forward to hopefully having some of you reach out to us and sign up for the program and that'll be a wonderful thing to take advantage of the program.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, sometimes we're skeptical of things that sound too good to be true. This is really good and true, so sign up and just call Scott and he'll get you all going. Thanks, man, I really appreciate that. This is great, and I hope a lot of people contact you soon, because I did. We love it and we love our matches too. So it's been, it's been absolutely great. Thanks for being on the show again.

Speaker 2:

Thanks for having me and thank you. We look forward to speaking with you soon.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, take.
